CalFresh (SNAP)
CalFresh,better known as food stamps, these benefits pay for food. The benefits are administered on an EBT card that works like a debit card. 

Eligibility: 
  • You must have low income. Your income requirements depend on your household size and monthly expenses.
  • Apply in the county where you live
  • Someone in the household must be a U.S. citizen or a legal permanent resident

​Immigrants and CalFresh
CalFresh it is not a public charge and it will not be taken into consideration when filing for U.S. Citizenship. Certain PRUCOL applicants may be eligible for CalFresh, such as U visa and VAWA applicants. Those with a pending SIJS and/or Asylum petition are not eligible for CalFresh until their applications are approved.  Undocumented people do not qualify for CalFresh. Mixed-status families may be eligible for CalFesh for those with a qualifying immigration status.

Women, Infants and Children (WIC)
WIC is a program designed for pregnant, nursing mothers, or mothers with kids under 5. WIC offers nutrition information, breastfeeding support and education, and healthy foods every month.  


Eligibility:
  • Families with a low to medium income. Working families may qualify.
  • Pregnant women or women who have kids under 5
